Roof Replacement Before & After Photos

A homeowner in Milwaukee, WI, who has lived in their home for 10 years, is experiencing a roof leak in the hallway near the attic access hatch and living room can lights. There are old water marks toward the front of the house, visible hail damage, and signs of roof failure. The project includes a full roof replacement, new gutters, downspouts, and chimney flashing. The total area is 1,532 sqft. They will install IKO Dynasty shingles in the Frostone color, along with drip and rake metal.

After tearing off the shingles of this home in Whitefish Bay, WI we replaced the decking and installed Ice & Water along the Eaves and up the Valleys. After that, we covered the new decking in underlayment and installed Appalachian colored shingles. We also replaced a small section of rubber roof, installed aluminum flashing, and replaced the ridge vent to provide better ventilation. The garage behind this home had cedar shake that we removed and replaced with the same IKO Dynasty Shingles that we put on the house.

This home needed a new roof due to its general age and low-quality shingles. Since the owner knew it looked rough, he wanted to replace the roof before it became a bigger issue. As a rental property, he also wanted to make sure the tenants were safe and happy staying there.

We used IDO Cambridge Architectural shingles to stay within his budget while also investing in a great roof for the future!

This project needed some additional labor when it came down to the section where the valley met the chimney flashing. We removed a section of the valley in order to run IKO's Ice and Water Protector. Usually, when doing a chimney flashing, we are able to remove a few shingles around the chimney, install the ice and water, step flashing, and counterflashing.  In this case, it was more complex than that.
