This home noticed a leak by the wall from the second story down to the first floor by the chimney, which was caused by a poor previous repair of their rubber roof. We removed the existing rubber to find rotten deck boards and replaced the plywood, rubber, and shingles covering the rubber around the chimney.
This home had a bad leak in the intersections of their rubber roof, asphalt shingle, and chimney flashing with multiple boards rotten through. Their leak could have been caused by the chimney flashing, but there were leaks that weren't related to that as well, so the whole section had issues. This caused damage to their drywall and was leaking into the house.
In order to resolve this roof leak problem, we replaced a large section of the asphalt roofing, rubber roofing, and chimney flashing. We used EPDM rubber roofing materials, new shingles and underlayments, and aluminum flashing since the chimney was just tarred before.
We were able to put their railing back on with proper caulking to ensure no leaks would return!
The customer called with concerns regarding a leak coming from the chimney flashing area. We came out, assessed the issue and fixed the leak by installing new flashing and proper protection for the roof. This chimney is now fully protected and ready for all of the Wisconsin weather.
Ridge vents increase the life expectancy of your roof, which saves on utility costs, and prevents interior damage from condensation and moisture! Here’s an example of a home that updated their ridge vents.
Klaus Roofing Systems took the time to help a customer out with a section of rubber roof that needed some repair work. The damaged areas of the rubber roof were removed and replaced with Johns Manville 60 mil EPDM Rubber Membrane. Giving the rubber section of the roof new life once again. Another satisfied customer!
