When a homeowner in Hartland, WI, noticed their roof was showing signs of age and damage, they reached out to Klaus Roofing Systems by Buck Buckley for a complete roof replacement. They wanted a durable, weather-resistant roof that could handle Wisconsin’s unpredictable elements.

Our team started by carefully removing the old roofing materials down to the wood deck. We replaced any damaged or rotted plywood to ensure a solid foundation. To maximize moisture protection, we installed KRS SealoronXT Ice & Water Protector and applied SealoronXT deck tape to all plywood seams.

For added durability, we secured the roof with VeloraONE synthetic underlayment and installed new aluminum drip and rake metal. The finishing touch was the IKO Dynasty architectural shingles, chosen for their strength and Class 3 impact resistance. To improve the home’s ventilation, we added Airvent Shinglevent II ridge vents and replaced all chimney and vent pipe flashings.

We re-estimated a project that required a full roof replacement with Emerald Green IKO asphalt shingles. During the assessment, we removed the kickouts and valley controllers due to space constraints. The project also involved replacing term bars with a drip edge, as we wanted to avoid using term bars on this roof. The estimate came in about 1K high on the asphalt side but 1k low on the EPDM side, resulting in a balanced cost. For the DCI smart ridges, Beacon can supply them, but they need to be special ordered.

The homeowner considered reusing the existing drip edge to save costs but ultimately decided to have Leaf guards remove the gutters for 2k. As an engineer, he thoroughly analyzed all options before making a decision. Although he would have liked to eliminate the box vents on the front side, a ridge vent was not feasible due to potential interference with the rubber to asphalt transition. The total roof area for this project is 11.5 SQ.

We transformed this customer's detached garage roof from old, rotting shingles into a new, long-lasting & affordable roof. 

The owner of this ranch style home knew he needed a professional because he could see that the ceiling was damp and starting to bulge. To start off we removed all of the existing materials and rebuilt the decking with CDX Plywood. The next step was to install ice & water and underlayment. They chose IKO Dynasty Shingles in the color Cornerstone, which is what was installed next. To keep proper ventilation we also cut out a new ridge vent, then installed chimney flashing to ensure a watertight seal. The owners of this Milwaukee, WI home can now relax, knowing that a leaky roof is something they won't need to worry about again.
