Small Chimney Counter Flashing & Ridge Vent Repair in Brookfield

Challenge

Sometimes, problems are caused by poor or wrong installations. With this home, the attic was not properly vented and was in need of a ridge vent and a new counter flashing for a small chimney.

Solution

We removed the shingles behind the larger chimney down to the wood and removed the aluminum chimney flashing and existing tin shingles. We installed IKO Goldshield Ice and Water shingles over the entire area, installed a new step flashing and apron flashing, and also installed new counterflashing.

We also repaired the ridge vents by cutting out the new ridge vent and installing the new ridge vent and shingles to the homeowner’s preferred color.
