Flat Roof Replacement in Hales Corners
Challenge
When extreme heat is generated on the surfaces of rubber roofs, EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber roofs are primed and sealed together using seam tape or cover tape. In this case, the roof suffered from old cover tape.
These problems caused massive damage to the drywall ceilings inside this home- to the point where they couldn’t even use one of the bedrooms because the ceiling was falling down!
Solution
Ryan and Nick were constantly checking in with these homeowners during the weeklong process on this massive flat roof- communication is key!
If you’re wondering about the general scope of work we did in order to replace the entire EPDM roofs, we would normally remove the low slope roofing down to the decking and assess the plywood for any damage or rot, but due to the tar and pitch layer on this roof, we were not able to access the deck boards. Instead, we got right down to business and worked on installing the new flat roofing, hauling away any roofing debris to ensure safety for both parties.
